Rice with curry
A mix of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, North African and Indian cuisine: Arabic food is colourful, varied and often refined with spices.
Ingredients (4 servings):
2x cups of basmati rice
1x cup of fine soup noodles
1x teaspoon of cardamom
1x teaspoon of cinnamon
5x cloves
3x bay leaves
2x tablespoons of salt
2x potatoes
2x carrots
culinary oil
Preparation: Wash the rice with warm water and let it soak for at least ten minutes. Pour the rice and the water into an oiled pot. Cover it and leave the rice for 20 minutes! Then add fine soup noodles to the rice and cook them for another ten minutes. Meanwhile, cut potatoes and carrots into small pieces. Cook them in a pan until tender. As soon as the rice is ready put the fried potatoes and carrots into the pot with the rice and stir it all together. For a spicy touch, add one teaspoon of cardamom and cinnamon. Round it off with cloves and bay leaves. Enjoy!
